Memorial day weekend was a big weekend for Medellin VIP as we played hosts to one of America’s greatest athletes.
For privacy reasons, we can’t reveal his identity. But we will say in the early 2000s, he played a fundamental role in popularizing a sport all over the world. We’ll refer to him as John Smith for now.
When we first heard John Smith was coming down I will admit I was pretty excited. He decided to come down here with his bros for his birthday weekend. And saying we hosted his birthday party was big for us.
Smith and his entourage (made up of 10 other guys). Booked with us a party package that included. Luxury airport pick-up, 2 duplex apartments, 24/7 concierge services, and an in-house chef cooking them breakfast lunch, and dinner for 3 days.

On Thursday, May 21st we picked Smith up at the airport in a Navigator Limo. Where complimentary champagne was served during the 40-minute drive down to Medellin.
We went over the itinerary for their 4 day weekend which included a full-time concierge and a full-time chef.
These guys stayed at the apartment we label as our lavish penthouse apartment in Provenza. The place is no longer available due to Covid but it was epic.
As soon as they set foot in the apartment they had the chef get to work on a welcoming breakfast. Eggs, homemade hashbrowns, juices made from exotic Colombian fruits, and oatmeal raisin pancakes. Not to mention an assortment of cheeses were some of the ingredients featured in this much-appreciated banquet.
After a long nap, these guys woke to a kitchen full of female friends helping the chef prep for the cookout. Beautiful girls working the grill. While a few others dusting areas of the apartment in apparel leaving very little to the imagination. It was great.
A VIP Weekend Done Right
Having an apartment full of girls, alcohol, and NBA conference finals on TV felt right. For this group of athletes just looking to get away from a life of… girls, alcohol, and NBA on TV. Ironic, right? But these guys live a VIP lifestyle and wanted nothing less than lifestyle management in Medellin as well.
We missed our dinner reservations because who was going to tell Smith he couldn’t watch LeBron take on the Hawks? or Curry bring it to Harden in the west conference finals.
I will say we hit up the city’s top clubs a few times that weekend. Smith was flabbergasted when he saw the ratio of girls to guys at a few of these places. Good music, great drinks, and a cornucopia of beautiful women were no doubt better than any other activity we could’ve done.
There are other aspects of the weekend that we’ve left out. But these guys had a great time and will come back for round two in Medellin. There is no doubt in my mind that Medellin VIP will be their go-to-guys for future trips.
