Santa Fe de Antioquia Tour
Visit the stunning western part of the state of Antioquia, a spectacular territory filled with rich history, colonial architecture and warm, friendly locals. The former capital of the state of Antioquia, Santa fe de Antioquia is a town that lives off its history as well as tourism and delicious food. Come for the beautiful sights and history stay for the warm weather, fresh tamarind and Bandeja Paisa.
The former capital of Antioquia, Santa fe used to have less visitors due to the excessively long commute of 4 hours. In 2006, a tunnel, right through the mountain was opened cut travel time significantly. Now, only 90-minutes separates you from the Medellin experience you were looking for. The one far from Parque Lleras and the one you promised your family you'd show them.
If that 10-minute tunnel weren't enough (it took nearly 10 years to build) Santa fe de Antioquia is also known for "El Puente de Occidente" (or Western Bridge) which is a large suspension bridge separating the municipalities of Santa fe and Olaya. At the time of its construction (circa 1896), Puente de Occidente was the largest suspension bridge in the world.
Come see the Puente de Occidente, Tunel de Occidente and have yourself a delicious Bandeja Paisa with Medellin VIP today!
